Chili Cornbread Skillet (Open Fire)

Equipment Cast-iron skillet (or Dutch oven), spatula
Ingredients (4 servings)
- 1–2 cans Chili Con Carne w/Beans (or Recipe 2 chili)
- Corn Bread Mix (prepared)
- Optional: Kernel Corn or Cream Corn stirred into chili
- Augason Farms Cheese Blend Powder sprinkled on top
Directions
- Heat chili in the skillet over medium coals. Stir in corn if using.
- Prepare cornbread batter and pour evenly over the hot chili.
- Cover with a lid or inverted second pan. Place a few coals on top and bake over medium coals 15–25 minutes until cornbread is set and golden. Sprinkle cheese powder on top if desired.
